Spray washers for cleaning Landing Gears and other Aircraft components

Vertical Reciprocating Spray Manifold to Clean Large Landing Gear

The aviation industry has stringent requirements for aircraft cleanliness and maintenance. Aircraft landing gears are exposed to harsh environments and require cleaning before painting, plating, assembly, and heat treatment. To achieve high-quality cleaning results, vertical reciprocating spray manifolds are used to clean large landing gears. Vertical reciprocating spray manifolds are designed to remove oil and grease from new and large landing gears of different types and sizes for commercial jets. The cleaning process is environmentally friendly, using biodegradable commercial detergents instead of solvents. The recirculating principle ensures that water-based cleaning solutions conserve energy, detergent, and water. Additionally, the power spray principle produces rapid and high-quality cleaning.

The spray washer uses a 5-stage process to clean landing gears. The first stage is the recirculating, heated alkaline wash, followed by the recirculating, heated pre-rinse, the recirculating, heated rinse, and the recirculating, heated RO final rinse (not in use but available if required). The high-impact blow-off is the final stage of the cleaning process. The reciprocating center nozzle pipe oscillates up and down to clean and dry the inside surfaces of the main bore. The reciprocating exterior spray manifold oscillates up and down to clean all exterior surfaces of the landing gear. The exhaust system ensures that fumes and particles are removed from the cleaning area. The spray cabinet and tanks are fully insulated, and a programmable heating system reduces energy costs. The chemical cost of the cleaning process is low, with only 5% detergent required in water. The energy cost is also low, thanks to the insulated spray cabinet and tanks and programmable heating system. The spray washer features a retractable operator platform and staircase that allows the operator to guide landing gears during loading and unloading in the holding fixture. The holding fixture is designed to accept different types of landing gear.

Turntable washer for new and used Landing Gear components

Cleaning of new (after machining) and used (prior to inspection) Landing gear components.

In the aviation industry, the cleaning and maintenance of landing gear components are crucial to ensure optimal aircraft performance and safety. A turntable washer is a specialized machine designed for cleaning new and used landing gear components before inspection, assembly, and installation.

The turntable washer uses a 2-stage process for cleaning landing gear components. The first stage is an alkali wash that removes oil, grease, and other contaminants from the surface of the components. The second stage is a water rinse with a rust inhibitor that prevents corrosion and enhances the longevity of the components. The turntable washer features multiple spray manifolds that can clean the exterior of parts as well as the interior of tubular shapes. The PLC controls allow for multiple cleaning programs and quick diagnostics, enabling operators to choose the most appropriate cleaning process for the specific landing gear components being cleaned. The machine's large solution tank extends tank life, reduces the number of tank clean-outs required, and prevents foaming. The zero-discharge process ensures that wastewater is not released into the environment, and the recirculating principle conserves water and detergent, reducing operational costs. The turntable washer also features thermal insulation, which maintains the cleaning solution's temperature and minimizes heat loss during the cleaning process. The machine has a 7-day heating program, ensuring that the cleaning solution is always at the desired temperature and ready for use. In addition to the features mentioned above, the turntable washer has several benefits that make it an essential tool for landing gear component cleaning. These benefits include:

  • Improved cleaning quality: The multiple spray manifolds and recirculating principle ensure that all parts of the landing gear components are thoroughly cleaned.
  • Increased efficiency: The turntable washer can clean multiple components simultaneously, reducing cleaning time and increasing productivity.
  • Cost-effective: The zero-discharge process, recirculating principle, and large solution tank reduce water and detergent usage and minimize operational costs.
  • Environmentally friendly: The zero-discharge process and use of biodegradable detergents make the turntable washer an environmentally friendly cleaning option.
