Automatic Hot Mounting Presses

After cutting the specimen, the next step involves mounting, serving a dual purpose. Mounting facilitates the handling of small or irregularly shaped specimens and provides protection for delicate materials, thin layers, or coatings during the preparation process. It also ensures optimal edge retention, resulting in uniformly sized specimens that are easier to manage in automatic holders during subsequent preparation stages. In the hot mounting method, the specimen undergoes mounting with the application of heat and pressure using a specialized hot mounting press.

All ECOPRESS models, operating with electrohydraulic precision, eliminate the need for air. The sample ejection is not only swift but also exceptionally smooth. Housed in an ergonomically designed ABS cabinet, the hydraulic components guarantee optimal functionality. For added convenience, the ECOPRESS 102/202 comes equipped with preprogrammed molding sequences that are factory-set. Simply place your sample in the mold, select the program number corresponding to your specific application, and press the "Start" button. ECOPRESS takes care of the rest! The fully automatic program sequence, initiated by the start key, executes with preselected parameters controlling pressure, heating, and cooling. A complete cool mount is achieved within a mere 7 to 9 minutes. If needed, parameters can be modified and adjusted seamlessly during the mounting process. Additionally, ECOPRESS 102/202 offers the capacity to store up to 99 operator-created programs, enhancing flexibility and customization. The user-friendly touch screen LCD prominently displays program data and instructions, ensuring a streamlined and efficient user experience.

The advanced heating and cooling unit, integrated into the upper section of ECOPRESS, boasts an impressive 1650 W of thermostatically controlled heating power, ensuring minimal molding times. Following the heating cycle, the cooling water is automatically activated and shuts off once the designated "Cooling Temperature" is reached. Engaging the stand-by mode initiates pre-warming, maintaining a consistently ready-to-use temperature and reducing the overall cycle time. Three distinct cooling modes – "Standard," "Slow," and "Based on Time" – cater to various resin types. Slow cooling is specifically designed for thermoplastic resins, benefiting from extended cooling periods for optimal mount clarity. An optional stainless steel "Recirculating Cooling Unit" is also available.

ECOPRESS mounting presses accommodate multiple mold sizes, ranging from 25 mm to 50 mm, allowing for easy and seamless mold exchanges. The inclusion of an intermediate ram doubles production capacity. Operator safety is prioritized with insulated mold closure. Additionally, the optional Chamfered Rams introduce a beveled face around the specimen's edge, eliminating sharp edges, improving the efficiency of grinding and polishing processes, and saving time and consumables. This feature also reduces the risk of mold damage from hard specimens. The user-friendly dovetail connection for the lower ram eliminates the need for mechanical fastening. The robust bayonet mold closure not only maximizes safety but also eliminates the necessity to clean cylinder threads before closure, ensuring molds remain intact and functional for an extended period without the need for replacements due to worn threads.
